For the month of December, I asked Patti a series of questions to get to know her better, celebrate her accomplishments, and allow her to give others a little behind-the-scenes look at training with me at JM Health and Performance.
Build a picture of your time at JM Health and Performance (When did you start? How did you find JMHP and what were your feelings that first day?)
I started at The Gym and working with Jeremy at JM Health and Performance on September 5th, 2024. Jeremy had been working with my daughter Zoe for several years. She was referred to Jeremy after her shoulder injury. Jeremy has helped Zoe to become stronger and more confident as she competes for playing time as a catcher at Virginia Tech. When Zoe went back to college in August, and my 60th birthday was looming in the not too distant future, I wondered if Jeremy would work with an old, overweight lady like me to get back into shape and healthy. And he said “of course”!
What was your “why” when you first started and how have you made progress toward that?
Get back to being healthy, strong and work on the belly fat I had accumulated.
In what way has Jeremy supported you in achieving your goals?
He has helped me with committing to a routine work out program with weights; focusing on protein intake and reducing my wine intake all to improve my health and well being.
Tell us something that most people don’t know about you or a fun fact?
I have 5 grandchildren who are the light of my life!!
What are some of your favorite lifts or movements?
Squats and the booty buster.
What PRs or accomplishments are you most proud of?
Loosing 10lbs of body fat, while gaining muscle mass! I also ran my best 5k time at Thanksgiving!
What’s on your fitness bucket list?
Improve muscle tone in my arms and continue to chip away at the belly fat.
What are your hobbies? What’s on your general bucket list?
I enjoy anything outdoors – walking; biking; playing with the grandkids! Bucket list – look good in a bathing suit next Summer (for a 60 year old)!
What would you say to someone on the fence about joining or just starting with JM Health and Performance?
Don’t listen to your head voice – go for it! You too can do it!!
