For the month of September, I asked Gabe a series of questions to get to know him better, celebrate his accomplishments, and allow him to give others a little behind-the-scenes look at training with me at JM Health and Performance.
Describe your journey with JM Health and Performance. When did you start training here, and how did you hear about us? What were your first impressions?
I started training with JM Health and Performance in the beginning of 2022. I heard about Jeremy through other baseball friends that trained with him. My first impression was very interesting because he had such a different approach to training baseball players specifically than anybody I had ever talked to before. Every trainer I had before had me focused on a lot of things and Jeremy was very good at simplifying it into something that was easy to comprehend.
What motivated you to begin training at JMHP, and how have you progressed toward your athletic goals since then?
I wanted to be the best baseball player I could be and I understood how vital the weight room was and I heard that Jeremy was the best in the game. He had all this great experience with working with the Dodgers and the Marlins. Since training with Jeremy, I committed to play division one baseball at Georgia Tech and have made massive gains in the weight room and have really understood my body.
How has Jeremy helped you in reaching your sports performance goals?
Jeremy has helped me in so many ways but one really big way is that he has made it so simple. Trainers have always tried to make it so complicated and for some people that works but for a teenager who is juggling school and practice, a simple and easy to understand idea of how to use the weight room made it much easier for me.
What’s something unique about you that most people might not know, or a fun fact related to your sport?
A fun fact related to my sport is that 0.5% of high schools baseball players get drafter out of high school or college.
What are your favorite exercises that you enjoy during training?
My favorite exercises are any sort of medball throws.
Which personal records or achievements are you most proud of in your athletic career?
My most proud achievement is committing to Georgia tech to play baseball.
What goals or milestones are you aiming to achieve next in your training or sports journey?
The main goal is to get stronger and specifically to up my squat, deadlift, and bench.
Besides sports, what are your hobbies? What are some things you’d love to accomplish outside of sports?
I like to play golf and pickleball and hang out with my family and friends. I would love to make my parents proud of me whether or not I make it as a professional athlete.
What advice would you give to other athletes who are considering training at JM Health and Performance?
I would say to train with Jeremy if you want to be a better athlete. Jeremy’s philosophy is something that is starting to grow throughout as science begins to get more involved and analytics and Jeremy is a great place to start. He does a great job at explaining and answering questions that you might have and he also just fun to be around. Jeremy has helped me grow and has taught me
